BCCF ATHLETE OF THE MONTH – NOVEMBER
Where did you grow up? Did you have any siblings, pets – what was your home life like? Were you involved in sports and/or other activities? Favorite memory growing up?
“I grew up in India, I have a younger sister who is currently doing her MBA in India. I always had a thing for sports I used to play Cricket, volleyball, and Badminton at University level. At present, I am just playing cricket in the Howard County league.”
How were you first introduced to CrossFit? What was your workout routine like before starting at Blue Crab? How long have you been a BCCF member, what is your favorite workout/movement, etc. Do you have a favorite BCCF memory? How do you feel CrossFit has changed/influenced your life?
“I started CrossFit at a local box in New York with my friend’s reference. I generally used to do a lot of running and cycling before joining Blue Crab. I guess it has been close to a year since I started here and My favorite movements would be Power cleans and Wall balls.
My favorite BCCF movement had to be, After lots of running, burpee box jumps and pull-ups I just whispered to Dallas that I had to stop smoking. Within minutes Josh was there reminding about my goals and what I was doing about them?. After giving it a serious thought, I stopped smoking from the next morning and it had been 3 months which had a positive effect on my overall health and Fitness. A lot of personal care is taken here compared to other boxes. All the coaches are extremely patient and very helpful.”
What goals do you have within the next year – CrossFit and non-CrossFit?
“My goals would be to start working on the handstand Pushups and gymnastics stuff. Outside the gym, I would like to start eating healthy and follow my macros consistently.”
Tell me about your life outside of the gym – favorite thing to do when your bored, favorite meal, music, job etc. Give me one really random fact that people may not know about you. What are you looking forward to most this autumn?
My life outside the gym is quite boring either I will be on the couch watching TV or on the cricket ground. One random fact would be when I moved here and zeroed in on BCCF, I didn’t have the commute to the gym so I had to learn to drive, take the drivers test and get a car in a 1-month span just to come here. Looking forward to the rest of football season.
